Our Production Models

Every CalStyle instrument is a one-of-a-kind, hand-built, custom. That said, we have several standard designs that we build for sale in our Reverb shop, and that we take to shows. Any of these production models can be built to your custom specs, but we have some standard configurations as well. What you see below are examples of some of these production builds, and links to our Reverb store for any completed instruments that are currently available.

We are currently prepping for the OC V!BE Guitar Festival in Anaheim, CA on July 20, 2024, and we'll have many of our production models available at the show. We've taken down our Reverb listings as we prepare, just to be sure we don't cross on an online order with an on-site purchase. You can always order a production build in your choice of wood species, or a full-custom build at any time.

The Cardiff

The Cardiff model is a classic solid-body electric. The slightly offset body with ergonomic arm and belly carves is comfortable and eminently playable. It provides a great foundation for virtually any pickup configuration, and typically sports either a Tune-o-Matic bridge or a Bisgsby 5-series tremolo bridge. The Cardiff VH Spec

The Cardiff VH Spec is a special edition in the Cardiff series that was designed for our first CalStyle artist, Val Hoyt. The VH comes standard with a P90 in the neck position, and a P90-sized humbucker at the bridge, which is coil-split courtesy of a push-pull volume pot. The VH gets a Duesenberg tremolo, and a 6 in-line headstock replaces the standard 5/1 design.

The JC Series

The JC Series is designed to rock. This double-cut body accommodates either a standard or multi-scale fret board which can be paired with a wide variety of pickup configurations. We typically build production JCs with 6 strings, but it can also be ordered in 7 or 8 string configurations.

The Whitney Electracoustic

The Whitney Electracoustic is a hollow-body, electric-acoustic guitar. Designed especially for stage and studio, the Whitney has a slim and completely hollow body (not chambered). It sports a magnetic pickup at the neck, and a piezo pickup upder the saddle. A Bartolini buffered preamp balances the impedence, and a blend pot gives you total control over mix between the two pickups. The Santa Cruz

The Santa Cruz is a hollow-body, electracoustic ukulele. Strung with nylon strings, this unique instrument gives you a traditional ukulele sound when played acoustically, and has the added benefit of a piezoelectric pickup, making is instantly ready for the studio or the stage. The Grover Beach

The Grover Beach is a CalStyle take on a traditional ukulele. The assymetric body and offset sound hole create both a unique look, and a beautifully rich tone. The Grover Beach is available in soprano, concert, or tenor scale as a custom build with personal touches that make every GB a one-of-one original.
